Heart of MAKE 2013

Thanks to our dedicated & dynamic volunteers at MAKE Corporation, we had a successful year of service to the children and families in need throughout our communities. As we continue to expand our outreach, we would love to hear what charities our employees  & consultants have special interest in as well. Where you would like to see MAKE serve in 2014? Are you involed in a community program that you’d like us to spotlight? Please send your requests to Liz at ehesse@makecor.com or comment below.

Here are just a few of the many charities that were impacted by MAKE this year, and below is a summary of some of the causes with which MAKE is passionate and how our team was involved in 2013. As always, be sure to follow our social media outlets to see spotlights on those in our community MAKEing a difference.

 Special Olympics

Throughout the fall, we did a three-part series of spotlights on Special Olympics of Illinois, a group that is near and dear to us because of its importance to our own MAKE family, one of our clients, and the community as a whole. We introduced a few special athletes and the teams that support them. In our first two series, we met Cassie Wohlhart, an 11-year Special Olympics Athlete and track star (pictured below), and Emma Ross, a gymnast and swimmer. In the third series, we meet basketball player Robert Atchison and his father and basketball coach, Bob Atchison.

2013 Special Olympics Inspire Greatness Gala

The 6th Annual Special Olympics Illinois Inspire Greatness Gala was the biggest gala to date in Illinois in terms of attendance. MAKE was honored to be a Vice-Chair for the event and enjoyed the opportunity to celebrate with the
inspirational athletes that brought us all together and their families.
