Every winter, countless people across the country jump into freezing cold water to raise money and show support for Special Olympics at the Polar Plunge event. On February 22, MAKE participants in Evanston, IL and Norman, OK took the frigid plunge for Special Olympics! Here is a recap from a few of our participants:
Cheryl Dove (Bookkeeper): “The idea of jumping in Lake Michigan in February seemed scary at first, but we worked up the courage to do it for Special Olympics. It ended up being a really fun event! I hope we can get an even larger group to join us next year!”
Jazmin Suarez (Technical Recruiter): “Thank you to everyone who supported our plunge! As of today the Evanston Plunge has raised $107,491!!”
Liz Hesse (Customer Service Representative): “Despite the cold, the people we do this for truly deserve it! It was fun to be able to take the plunge alonside some of the athletes that brought us all together. I will definitely participate next year!”
